Biography: Jack Brisco was an American professional wrestler known for his technical prowess and his status as a two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion. He transitioned from a celebrated amateur wrestler to a central figure in professional wrestling.

Brisco began his amateur wrestling career in high school, securing three state championships and garnering attention for his athletic skill. He continued his success at Oklahoma State University, capturing the NCAA Wrestling National Championship and earning All-American honors twice.

After turning professional in 1965, Brisco quickly made a name for himself in various NWA territories, winning several championships including tag team titles with partners such as Haystacks Calhoun and Gorgeous George, Jr. He excelled in Championship Wrestling from Florida, holding multiple titles and engaging in notable feuds, especially with the Funk brothers, Terry Funk and Dory Funk Jr.

Brisco's victory over Harley Race in 1973 for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship was a peak in his career. Along with his brother Gerald Brisco, he also played a significant role in discovering Terry Bollea, the future Hulk Hogan.

The Brisco brothers were instrumental in the expansion of the World Wrestling Federation, selling their shares in Georgia Championship Wrestling to Vince McMahon in 1984. After a brief stint in the WWF, Brisco retired in 1985. He was subsequently inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008.
