Alan Partridge movie adds to cast

LONDON

Colm Meaney, Anna Maxwell Martin and Sean Pertwee are set to join Steve Coogan in the feature spin-off of his popular radio and television character Alan Partridge.

Helmed by veteran television comedy director Declan Lowney, “The Alan Partridge Movie” sees Coogan reprise the role of fictional disc jockey first created in 1991 for BBC Radio 4’s spoof current affairs program “On the Hour.” The character has since appears in three skeins and various television specials and in 2011 saw a fictional autobiography published.

Also new to the cast are Monica Dolan and Dustin Demri-Burns, who join past-Partridge alumni Felicity Montagu, Tim Key, Simon Greenall, Phil Cornwell, Nigel Lindsay and Darren Boyd.

Kevin Loader and Baby Cow Films’ Henry Normal will produce the film, which has started lensing in Norfolk, for BBC Films, the BFI Film Fund and Studiocanal. Studiocanal handles international sales and will distrib in the U.K.
